Yolanda Dubois
She asks that people respect her position, and insists that people call her Dr. Dubois in any professional setting. When in public, she will accept Miss Dubois, and only accept Yolanda if she is your friend and it’s in a casual setting. She will allow no exceptions to this.
Physical Description
An average height for most fae, she comes from a lineage of bog faes, who used to inhabit and care for the wetlands. Her particular family ended up with a light, bluish purple skin colour. They also have long ears, as long as a high elf, which have an almost water fae shape to them. She also has a pair of purplish horns that start at her temples and curve backwards keeping close to her head. Like all nymph varieties, she has a very attractive body, with a large bust.
She will keep her long back hair tied up in the back, holding tight to her head, with a small bun in back, with the remaining hair forming a long tail from that. She will paint her lips bright red, along with her nails, to accentuate them from her skin. Her eye shadow style tends to match her eyes, being green, sometimes with a white cloudy shadow to it.
Physical Quirks
When she is listening to someone, or when she is lost in thought, she tends to swing the pen she is almost always holding. Sometimes this even causes her to tap it against things without even thinking about it, making a perfect metronome rhythm.
Clothing Style
She tries to keep her look approachable but professional. She knows her male patients appreciate feminine charms, so she does not go fully business attire. A short white shirt that shows a little midriff, coupled with a black velvet sleeveless cardigan, and a medium length black skirt are her go to outfit. This allows her to help relax her clients, while still remaining professional. She also has an aquamarine jade necklace she usually wears, a family heirloom, simple faux pearl bracelets, and ornate earrings. She completes the outfit with high heel pumps. This tends to even be her go-to outfit when she’s not working, as she likes to remain semi-professional at all times.
Mental Characteristics
Personal History
Living on the outskirts of Montreal, she was always a very disciplined child, following all the rules, and making up some of her own for her younger brothers. She became the queen bee of the house very quickly, and made sure everyone did their chores and homework, as her parents were always very busy with their jobs to support her and her four siblings. She always made sure they were in bed on time, had brushed their teeth and cleaned up before they did any fun stuff. While they did resent her a little bit, they all knew it was best to just do what she said.
When she was 14, her father committed suicide after losing his job, and she learned from her mother that he had been suffering with depression this whole time, and he had been pouring his focus into his work to avoid dealing with it. The loss of the job let it all hit him at once. She had no idea he was going through this, and began her path to study how this could happen to men like this, and what she could do to help others from having to deal with the same fate.
Education
Picking up odd jobs during high school, and applying for every scholarship she could, she earned enough to get into a good university, and worked her way to being a psychiatrist. She did her doctorate on the effects of depression, and after being invited to lecture at a university in New York, she decided to move there and start a practice.
Employment
She held a job as a lecturer at a prestigious New York university for five years before she decided to start her own practice and went into that full time. She still will occasionally write papers on her main subjects of study, but she prefers to focus on her clients.
Morality & Philosophy
For her, order is everything. Everything has it’s place, A always comes before B, and there is a logic to everything. People do things for reasons, and she makes it her mission to find out what the reasons for people’s actions are. Many have commented that she is remarkably logical for a psychiatrist. She feels that her sense of order and logic helps put her clients at rest, as they know there is a structure behind everything she does.
Personality
Motivation
While she is always about order, she truly desires to help others understand why they do things, and help them see there are other ways to achieve things. She realized long ago that men deal with their pain and issues in completely different ways from women, so she strives to learn as many of the ways as possible, and help men find which way can help them continue to feel that they have a purpose and continue living.
Likes & Dislikes
She absolutely adores greasy food, fatty food and junk food. She is often seen scarfing down a burger and poutine, or munching on a chocolate bar and chips. She does try and work it off in her spare time, but she is always drawn back to it. She absolutely detests social media, especially those on it who seem to make it their life’s mission to denigrate men.
Virtues
She is very compassionate and caring, and despite her almost cold and logical first impression, she will open up to her clients to show that she really does care, and wants them to be better. She will encourage them and support them in anything they do, and truly does want to help them, and it always shows.
Vices
Besides her love of junk food, she also loves to watch porn, although never at work. She also has a strong desire for sex, but she keeps it under tight control. On top of that, she loves to drink, but like most fae has a very high tolerance to alcohol.
Quirks
While she is very much in control and wants to keep everything orderly and in it’s place, part of this is because she has such strong desires, especially on the sexual side. Some situations make it very hard for her to keep that control, and when she is fighting to maintain control, she tends to fidget a lot.
Values
She has a strong appreciation for men, not just what they do, but how well they deal with things thrown their way, how they are able to cope with things, and how strong they are, both mentally and physically.
Sexual Style
When she does finally give in to her desires, her entire personality changes. Going from a controlled and professional woman to a wanton slut demanding to be used. She still has her forceful nature, but it is directed to getting what she wants, which usually is someone filling her hard and fast. She tends to be very vanilla in her tastes, but loves nothing more than hot, wild, passionate sex. She also loves to be held down and taken. She keeps this side of her under tight control, since like most fae, she has an extremely high sex drive. She tends to go for men who she knows need the confidence boost. Not only does she use it in her practice as a way to help men in desperate need of the boost, but also to satisfy her own needs. She will never cut a man off cold turkey from her affections, however. She makes sure that emotionally they are ready to find someone on their own. She has also been known to do occasional couples therapy, engaging with both partners, but this is much rarer. She never engages with women otherwise.
Social
Contacts & Relations
She still keeps in contact with her brothers and mother. Her little brothers are all successful and thankful for all her strictness when they were growing up. Her mother, unfortunately never full recovered emotionally from the loss of her husband, and as been in a care facility for the past 10 years. She will go up and visit her at least four times a year, sometimes more, just to make sure her mom knows that she is still loved. Her brothers keep close to mom as well, making sure she is always visited. Outside of her clients and family, she never really associates with folks on any kind of a social way.
Social Aptitude
While she is able to hold a conversation, she tends to be very closed when it comes to herself, not giving anything, but always asking about others, being very interested to learn about them, and how they make it through life. She will keep her talk usually very clinical and analytical, never delving into small talk or chit chat.
Religious Views
She has a conflicted relationship with religion. While she understands how faith can help some people through their problems, she cannot understand how anyone can believe in a God who lets depression exist in the first place. She will tolerate people’s religion and their beliefs, and if she feels they are helping a person in need, will encourage people to use them, but she tends to encourage people to find solutions in other places, and search within themselves more than asking for help from on high. She usually tells them, “God will help those who help themselves.” but in truth she doesn’t believe a word of it, she just knows it helps them stand on their own feet.
Mannerisms
A very deliberate and structured woman, she moves with a purpose, and speaks with precision in what she is relaying to others. She has a place for everything, and everything must be in it’s place. Everything is orderly, and it’s obvious she has a bit of an OCD streak when it comes to her office. Moving even one thing on her desk will cause a stern look, and she will move it right back. Despite this severe outward appearance, she loves chaotic and slapstick comedy, especially goofy old cartoons.
Hobbies & Pets
In order to keep the weight off, she has to work out quite a bit, which she does by using a running machine in her home. She also loves to garden, and has a very ordered and perfectly spaced vegetable garden in her tiny back yard. In spite of this drive towards perfection, she has a white ferret named Fantome, who she plays with all the time when at home, letting her silly and playful side out.
Speech Style
She speaks with a strong French Canadian accent, and as such, knows she must speak very precisely, and clearly with a lot of clinical terminology. She doesn’t tend to get emotional when you first meet her, and seems almost aloof. But with her clients, as she begins to talk to them, her voice softens and her compassion comes through. When she lets her desires out, she lets a lot more vulgar language out.
Political Affiliation & Activism
She has become disgusted with most of the political parties, both where she lives and back in her home country. She feels they have abandoned any principles and are just looking for power, and are sacrificing good sense to get it. She also has a particular hatred of feminist ideologies, and will actively point out all the damage they have caused. She doesn’t involve herself in activism itself, but will use her research to bring to light all the problems she sees.
